Parent Involvement

Parent involvement is encouraged at every level of the organization. Christian schools rely heavily on the entire school body to give in various ways to enhance the educational experience of the children.

Ways You Can Make A Difference
Pray for the children, the staff, and the school.
Consider joining the “Moms in Touch” prayer group, which meets every Thursday at the Countryside YMCA from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Share a special talent, gift, interest, hobby, or profession with the children in their classrooms. Ask teachers about such opportunities.
Share spiritually with the children during chapel services. Ask the administration for opportunities to share your musical gifts or spiritual messages during these times.
Give financial gifts through general donations or planned giving. See How to Give.
Participate in our school fundraisers.
Recommend LCS to other families as the opportunities arise.
Become a classroom volunteer and help the teachers as needed.
Provide items on your child(ren)’s teacher’s wish list.
Volunteer to meet school needs as opportunities arise.
Attend chapel, your child(ren)’s special programs, and all-school events.
Purchase spirit wear and WEAR IT!
Provide a healthy, nurturing home environment for your child(ren).
Follow the Matthew 18:15-17 principle for solving school problems.
Faithfully meet financial obligations to LCS.

Become a PTF (Parent-Teacher Fellowship) member

Ongoing PTF efforts:

  • Raising funds to provide special educational and enrichment programs for the children
  • Organizing all-school events to promote school spirit, a sense of unity, and fellowship
  • Reaching out to the community through various programs and events
  • Promoting the school within the community
 

PTF goals for 2007-2008 include:

  • To raise funds to bring "A Walk through the Bible" program to LCS
  • To continue to bring other music and dramatic performances and COSI on Wheels to LCS students
  • To continue to provide extra funds to teachers for classroom expenses
  • To continue to provide each of the kindergarten and 8th-grade graduates with a t-shirt for graduation night
